Just to let people know since I see a lot of people worried

Just to let people know since I see a lot of people worried about their iPhones having lower battery percentages in battery health. The battery health part of the settings at is at best a guesstimate by iOS on how much of a charge your battery can actually hold. Newer devices should hold more due to the battery being newer. Older ones normally have less. The chemicals in the batteries age over time. This is because the chemicals in newer phones are not as old. Also your battery life also depends on how you charge it and how many cycles you go through. Another thing that affects battery life, and cycles are how much you use the phone and how power intensive apps are, if you are on Wi-Fi and if you are using blue tooth. A good rule from what I have seen and read is to keep your battery between 20 and 80% charge to help with the longevity of it. I however charge it to 100% about every 2 days and have not seen any problems. Now as the battery gets older and isn’t able to hold as much of a charge I may charge it once a day. Hope this helps everyone.

I had my iPhone X since I came out I never checked it’s battery health till today. Don’t worry about it. I don’t know what I did but it’s only at 90% battery health

avatar
March 13, 2022, 1:04 a.m.

I've had mine since Sept.

avatar
March 13, 2022, 1:04 a.m.

Mine is at 80%

avatar
March 13, 2022, 1:04 a.m.

Don't worry let your battery health drop first

when it drops for the first time you would feel bad

avatar
March 13, 2022, 1:04 a.m.

The battery health on ur phone not based on cycles apple cant make it True tell now

avatar
March 13, 2022, 1:04 a.m.

While this is true. Not all batteries are the same. Let’s say your using a 13 pro max, bought brand new…. Moderate usage & the battery health is at 80% or lower then there might be a defect with the battery

that is true. I was just saying in general if there isn’t any major defect.

avatar
March 13, 2022, 1:04 a.m.

Bottom line: people who buy pre-owned look at battery health. Regardless of your opinion about it, unless you’re the one buying their second hand phone with your own cash, they probably don’t care about your lecture.

very true the way people are taking it like use your phone and forget about the battery health.. if those people are to shop for used phones the first question they would ask is the battery health... even me I can't imagine my self buying a phone with 85% below because I know would time I would have to change the battery which if not done well will make the phone feel not genuine

Not only that, let's say you're not comfortable doing the work yourself, you're paying yet more $$$ to get it fixed.
It's not rocket science, you'll get more money for your phone on the second-hand market if your battery is healthy. Who doesn't like getting more money for the stuff they're selling?

I understand that. I was only posting that to just help those who get nervous about their battery life. I personally generally dont care about mine unless I see it drops 20% quickly.

avatar
March 13, 2022, 1:05 a.m.

But when an iPhone is three months old and maximum capacity is 89%, that is not normal.

it’s a guesstimate. Sometimes updating iOS can do that.

that is true

avatar
March 13, 2022, 1:05 a.m.

Exactly! If people still ask about battery % after reading this post then only God will save their tiny brain.

Why are Apple people always moaning about battery life. You pay a 1000 dollar or more for the phone and a new 40 dollar battery is to expensive????????

iPhone 13 pro max
Has best battery life

avatar
March 13, 2022, 1:05 a.m.

People won't understand that even if you explain it to them thousands of times. Better show them 100% all the time to understand.

I have iPhone 8 plus and want to upgrade to iPhone 11 pro max but I read some info on issues with the new iPhone - connection problems; not that long battery life as advertised; heating up while charging; screen flickering.... Can those with iPhone 11 pro max share their experience please? The phone is expensive and I’m collecting all the info before make the commitment
Thank you.

It's a personal choice. I updated my 7 plus to 11 last year. Not that good as I think it should be.. But still a good phone.

I want it for the cameras

Apple 20w power adapter is definitely recommended. Fast charging will not damage your iPhone battery at all. Only using lower wattage power adapters eg 5w old style Apple adapters with newer iPhones will just make your iPhone charger slower than a higher wattage power adapter.

5w will definitely not damage any battery. That's total nonsense.
It will most certainly not do any damage to an iPhone 11, because it was the charger which came in the 11's box...

, will the 20w apple charger damage my iPhone 11's battery? This is so confusing. By the way I'm new to iPhones. Coming from an Android device all of my life.

Apple gave u the 5w charger in the old box coz that charger is useless bro and cost less than 5$ they dont care about ur battery or ur phone
but as u said the 5W charger dont effect ur phone battery

&
, what kind of car charger should I buy for my new iPhone 11? Thank you. I was thinking about buying the Anker car charger.

I'd get the left one, as you will be able to use both USB A and USB C cables

, thank you so much.

avatar
March 13, 2022, 1:05 a.m.

You can use any charger above 18W to get fast charging. None will damage your phone, because it will take as much power as it needs.

avatar
March 13, 2022, 1:05 a.m.

I use 10w ipad adapter.95% BH left after 1 year of usage

avatar
March 13, 2022, 1:05 a.m.

Using them while charging and making the phone HOT degrades the battery faster.

avatar
March 13, 2022, 1:05 a.m.

You can use any of those chargers you listed charging times will vary the higher the watts the faster it will charge your iPhone don't worry if the watts are higher then the phone was designed for because the Iphone will only charge at the max watts it can handle won't charge above that

avatar
March 13, 2022, 1:05 a.m.

I use the 20W for iPad and my iPhone 11 sometimes. Usually wireless charge overnight with a 5W block.

avatar
March 13, 2022, 1:05 a.m.

Doesn’t matter. Just the speed of the
charging process

avatar
March 13, 2022, 1:05 a.m.

Use what Apple states as phone specific...don't use whatever is not recommended!

avatar
March 13, 2022, 1:05 a.m.

Apple 20w or the Anker Nano..
I use both..

With moderate use how many days can you go without charging

With moderate use how many days can you go without charging your iPhone? I can go two to three days without charging my (new) iPhone 11. Great battery life so far with current software version 15.3.1.

None. I charge my iPhone every night.

Stan, why every night though? That could be hard on the battery.

it’s not. I have been charging ever night since the first iPhone. Now they have charging maintenance built in. Don’t worry about it.

Nope. Every iPhone has built in circuitry to manage charging. There’s no reason not to charge your iPhone while you’re sleeping. Charging will automatically stop whenever necessary while it’s plugged in.

I think this iPhone refurbished

is not refurbished... but is a replacement iPhone

avatar
March 13, 2022, 1:04 a.m.

Inasmuch as it might be a refurbished version, battery draining is peculiar to iOS 14. It’s a bug that  is yet to rid off which I believe would normalise the battery usage.

is not refurbished

avatar
March 13, 2022, 1:04 a.m.

Maybe it has some issue because even though they slowly becoming obsolete i had a 6splus a few months ago and even at 80 percent battery health it hold longer charge and my usage was very heavy

which kind of issue do you think... should I return the phone?

Im not sure but return it and try an upgrade or a different one

iPhone 7 + was probably the worst iPhone that I have had. Battery life, call quality and a couple other minor issues. But I know other people that say they have loved the 7+. Basically what you are describing though seems more like a refurbished phone though. (Good Luck & Godspeed)
