Definitely but make sure the battery is still good if you’re planning on getting it secondhand.

avatar
Feb. 18, 2022, 12:07 a.m.

Yes. You could maybe get about 3 years from it before Apple pulls the plug

id say 2 not 3

Well the old iPhone SE will lose support in 2021 and next in line will be the iPhone 7. The Plus variant with increased RAM should last one extra year than the iPhone 7

avatar
Feb. 18, 2022, 12:07 a.m.

Yes even a 6s plus is still worth it in 2020 cause honestly most people aren’t doing anything crazy

some upgrading it to iPhone 12 too.

(iPhone SE)Anybody know how to get an iPhone to do a factory reset when I don’t know any passwords or Apple ID? Some fudging dinkhead stole my iPhone and I didn’t have any lock or codes to my phone at the time it was stolen from me. Now the phone has their shit on there and its like impossible to do anything because of their Apple ID and passwords and EVERYTHING! They even took it to Verizon and it says sim locked now!!!!! Am I fudged!! ? Anybody please can help?? Oh I forgot, I got the phone back when I heard of the person having the phone!!!!!

without the email and password your basically screwed a factory reset will not work because once you turn that phone back on after it will ask it unless find my phone switch is turned off

it might triggers his cpu settings for that.

I cant see much of a difference between the entire range tbh; is it still ok with the latest iOS probably only reason not to buy tbh

Yeah that’s a little hard to believe after four years it’s not 100% mines is only a year and a half old and I’m at 89%

The longest I kept my phones battery health at 100% is 2 years

bro beacuse of you A+ charger yours iphone battery health came down quickly if you use orignal charger
1.0 A voltage then your battery health came down very slowly

Either you never used it, which I don’t think so cz I would be running iOS 8 and the battery health started in iOS 11, or you just got a new battery, I replaced the battery of my iPhone 6s Plus a few months ago and it still says 100%, and I beat the crap out of it on a daily basis.

After this iphone 14 how to avoid losing the device that cannot be found. For example: Unlock the screen to lock the device, if you don't unlock the screen, no one can open the device, so wifi and 4G network still work normally, the location is still turned on. It is a feature that helps people who have lost their phones to find their lost phone easily. On the contrary, no matter how many generations of iPhones are released, no matter how high the security is, if the device is lost and cannot be found, the value of the iPhone generations remains unchanged.

Definitely an iPhone with all that light glare lol

lol there are lower end androids that have plenty of glare as well you know.

no one cares about lower end androids lol

and no one cares about lower end iPhones.
What’s your point?

I have a 13 pro max and it produces more glare than any android I’ve ever had, that’s my point.

then get it checked out because it shouldn’t.
I also have a 13 pro and do not have that issue.

every iPhone does it.. just look at the thousands of review on YouTube. Light glare is an issue.

if you say so. It’s not something that I’ve ever noticed.

Why don’t you sell it and get a android if you’re not happy?
The resale value is a lot better on iPhones so if you have a 13 pro max you’ll easily be able to get a new flagship android.

I love my iPhone… but I’m not such a fanboy that I can’t admit or point out faults where faults are.

nether am I.
I’ve switched between both platforms and I would be the first to complain if I encountered such a issue.

At the moment I’m very happy with the 13 pro camera.
I’ll have to take a few pictures in the night and see if mine has any issues.

I love the camera. It’s just the light glare/lens flare you get at night when taking pictures. I like to take pics of my car and sometimes lighting isn’t great and I always get the flare come up

avatar

Have you been doing the stink think battery saver. According to Apple product owners the very best way to preserve your battery on all Apple products is every night before bed you most fart on you phone front and back. Apparently the methane reacts with chemicals in the battery to preserve its durability.

That’s how ridiculous you sound when you cry about your battery ageing. Enjoy your phone and stop worrying about the battery health.

Here’s my answer and it’s personally my opinion. I’d call apple support and have them run diagnostics on your phone maybe they can distinguish the problem. Another thing I scrolled back through your previous posts (don’t judge me I’m weird 🤷🏻‍♀️) but it says you have an iPhone 7? Not to knock you or anything but the iPhone 7 has had a lot of problems from the speaker going out to not being able to hear phone calls to just a wide variety of things. I have an iPhone 8 Plus and before I got it I had a 6 that was a year ago I had planned on upgrading to a 7 because the back wasn’t made of glass but the two I ended up getting my hands on had speaker problems so I just saved my money and got the iPhone 8 Plus. Don’t get me wrong I’m still TERRIFIED of dropping it or bumping it because the back is made of glass and I have babies so I’m on a tight budget and not big balling but I take care of my phones I baby them 😂 so In short I’d just take it in to an apple authorized dealer to let them figure out what’s wrong. Too I’ve heard the battery health is a scare tactic to kinda I guess get people to upgrade but I have optimized charging turned on on mine and I’m upgraded to the 14.6 iOS software and mine is at 98 percent battery health

avatar
Feb. 18, 2022, 12:07 a.m.

Everyone here making idiotic comments - Apple recalibrated the battery stats. I thought this was common knowledge. The number you get now is the result of the recalibration. Jesus. Stop panicking about the damn batteries.

If you charge your phone from 0-100 and …. The battery cycle will deteriorate quicker than charging from 0-70 or maybe 20-80

yep. the most optimal way to cycle your battery and still retain usable daily usage is to charge between 20-70. You can 3-5x your charge cycles like that.

is that so? I charge my phone whenever it needs a charge and also over night🤷🏼 iPhone 12 Pro Max got it on release date.

I believe your phone is just few months old! I had 100% in my first year of usage… and this my second year and my battery dropped from 100-85% in health so, i’m just suggesting a few methods to preserve battery for sometime

ok, you believe whatever you want, I’m just tired of all this false information that people are spreading about how to charge the phone🤷🏼

i mean explain me when u get a new phone why is charged to 50-60%

like with all batteries like lithium polymer and lithium ion batteries they are always stored at a “storage charge” when or if they are not going to be used for an extended period of time

Feb. 18, 2022, 12:07 a.m.

Turn optimised charging back on reduces ageing of the battery

i never overcharged my iPhone. There is no need to turn on optimise battery

you cant overcharge an iphone. or any li ion based device. you can however charge more efficiently and that whats optimise battery feature does.

well if there is no need then stop complaining

avatar

avatar
Feb. 18, 2022, 12:07 a.m.

How do you keep your phone cold when it’s summer?

air conditioner room. 🤷‍♂️

fridge🤣

Supposedly some of us go outside for hours in heat and humidity, I’m picturing a tiny ice bag tied to my watch, or they could start making cases that you freeze before you put on. 😂

put it in a cup of water and place it in the freezer for approximately 45 minutes 🙂

to be safe id say 24 hrs 😂

avatar
Feb. 18, 2022, 12:07 a.m.

Guys, if you want to preserve your battery capacity doing the following (other than just leaving the phone charged at 50% in a drawer forever) is the following:

-Charging to 70-80% at most
-Charging before charge drops bellow 20%
-Using slow charging and no wireless charging
-Avoiding using or charging in hot evironment
-Using battery saver and dark mode on oled models

All of the above will put the lowest amount of strain on the cell while the phone is still usable everyday. With that kind of use, you can extract 1000-1500 cycles before cell becomes unusable.

i use wireless charger it’s harmful

wireless charging will cause higher temparatures on the cell, thus causing faster degradation.

can i charge my phone overnight 😳

you can. it might burn down your house if you use fake batteries or chargers tho :)

😍😍yay

wait till it gets as low as 20 to 10%

I plug mine in every night doesn’t matter how low it is.

I have found two things.

1. The health percentage is not very reliable.
2. The charge cycles are a good measure. You can find them from here:

i got 132 charge cycles and 99% health 🥺🥺🥺🥺
Is it normal I have 12 pro max!
5.5 months old
Should I change battery 🙂

I think that’s good enough. No?

A battery is supposed to keep it battery health at 80% till 500 cycles. I think I read this somewhere.

but it’s showing 100 in battery health section but in 3utools it shows 99%

You’ve never seen anything like this in 12 years because the battery health feature is only a few years old🙃

avatar

The reason you have never seen anything like this in the past 12 years is because that stat wasn’t available to you until 2018. It was always happening you just weren’t aware of it

Ive had my 12 mini for 12 months--I'm at 95%..which I think is great. Iphone battery life is the same as it was in 2007....the phone is just more powerful. If you want a phone with a great battery life..Android. 2 day batteries and one phone charges in 10 minutes. Iphone isn't great.....we just keep buying them!

super agree battery 🔋 life on iPhone isn’t good at all Apple sell us dis expensive phone we buy and they come out wit a new phone so they break down da old phone we have so we can buy da new one

, My iPhone 13 Pro Max charges fully in 20 minutes when it gets down to less than 20%. I have nothing to change complain about. That is super fast. It’s still 100% (I’ve only had it a month) but 20 minutes is nothing to complain about! (Oh, and the 80% I’m using lasts 12-15 hours)

The iPhone 13 Pro Max is said to fully charge from 0 to 100 percent in less than 90 minutes. ... Chinese Tipster Duan Rui also tested it out and makes the same claims, adding that it takes about 86 minutes to fully charge with a charger that uses 30W.

12 Pro after 12 months too…

mine is the same had mine since March

true my Samsung battery could last me 2 days and fast chat in 20 minutes

And the more that you check it, the faster it will go down. What does it take to convince people like you that YOUR BEHAVIOR is what is causing your battery level to drop?

So why are you here?

avatar
Feb. 18, 2022, 12:06 a.m.

In a day?🙄🙄🙄 why is that? im a hardcore user who got no mercy on battery health 😂 no charging schedules yet i got 1% drop in 5 months 🙄 you should take it to store for service

agreed.

no. That would be a waste of time. What’s the actual issue? Is the phone powering off randomly? During use?

This is not a real issue

I’ve given up. Checked my 12 by accident earlier today. At 5 months, I’m at 91% even though I use my iPad for all the heavy duty stuff. Whenever it reaches 80%, I’ll get the battery changed. I usually change phones every 4 - 5 years.

my 12 is at 99 after 7 months 😂

avatar
Feb. 18, 2022, 12:06 a.m.

Apple should really stop showing battery health. Instead, just show battery status like good, average and need replacement

avatar
Feb. 18, 2022, 12:06 a.m.

I mean, if yesterday was the first time you’ve checked it, it may have been at 98% for a couple of months, and then today just changed

avatar
Feb. 18, 2022, 12:06 a.m.

I had the 12 pro max all year until the 13 Pro Max came out, was at 100% for 7 months, then within a 7 day period it dropped 6% & then another 3% the following week.

avatar
Feb. 18, 2022, 12:06 a.m.

I am very concerned about my iPhone 12 mini despite I bought in December that the battery capability was 100% till end of June 2021 that I alway kept it above 30% all the time. From after June there I have 6% degrade from 100% to 94%, but from august it’s was 97%. This month it’s went down from 97% 95% and 94% and why is this it doing that? I charge my iPhone every 2 days to keep the battery health in peak condition as I think it’s not staying long to what it’s should be I wondered if my iPhone battery capability could reach around 88% by December or reach 80%? My iPhone is still under warranty til December 22nd 2021. & should I take AppleCare out to further protect it for battery replacement etc?

avatar
Feb. 18, 2022, 12:06 a.m.

This percentage is an estimate that Apple makes. A possible prediction. That, of course, means nothing at all. Just keep in mind that you have to replace a battery once every 2 to 3 years. New batteries are not that expensive. Luckely, you can easily replace the battery of your iPhone yourself.......

avatar
Feb. 18, 2022, 12:06 a.m.

mine is now at 92% (I've got my 12 since January)... what do you guys think? I wirelessly charge every night, no matter what the batt percentage is... I always place it on the qi-charger before I go to bed

avatar
Feb. 18, 2022, 12:06 a.m.

Actually that is pretty good for battery health any lower below 50 it be time for a new battery

I have iPhone SE with like 73% and it's impossible to use it without power bank. It literally dies in a half of an hour if I use it. I think it's better to change battery or iPhone when battery health drops to 80%

it depends on the iPhone you have, cause battery capacity varies between iPhone models. I had an 11 Pro Max for almost two years, used it on 86% for like 4/5 months and it still got me through the day no problem.

Yeah, you're right

are u always on your phone? That can be part of it

same here . I ❤️ mine and I can be on doing all my stuff during the day. And it last

the 13 Pto Max is a beast ! I’m loving mine !!!

Yeah, I used it a lot before getting iPhone 11 this year. I don't limit myself in using iPhone if I paid money for it. When I first experienced low battery performance, I found tips like turning off all services in iPhone just to make it last longer. It makes no sense because I need a fully functional iPhone with all its services turned on. Good that Apple finally improved batteries in new iPhones.

avatar

avatar

avatar
Feb. 18, 2022, 12:05 a.m.

That's a lot, my iPhone 12 is a year old and still 100% using the Apple 20w charger. The key is not to charge above 80% and not let it go below 30 or 40%, charging too high or letting it go too low puts a lot of strain on lithium batteries. A number of short charges throughout the day is better than one long charge

avatar
Feb. 18, 2022, 12:05 a.m.

BATTERY HEALTH IS NOT ALWAYS GOING TO STAY AT 100%, IT IS NOT A PROBLEM IT GOES DOWN, IT IS JUST NATURAL…
Geez, all this obsession with battery health, how did it even start…

is the same all the day all days 😒😒😒

avatar
Feb. 18, 2022, 12:05 a.m.

How exactly is this an issue though. Stop overthinking it and simply use your phone. People psych themselves out with that number and in day to day usage you would never notice it

Oh and batteries wear out with use and every person uses their iPhone differently no matter what. Charging and usage patterns are different no matter what so it’s hard say.

It having gone down 1% in two months is not a problem.

avatar
Feb. 18, 2022, 12:05 a.m.

Yup! iOS 15 has been hurting the battery on so many iPhones out there. This is not normal. I have an iPhone XR on iOS 12.4 and the battery life is on 100%!! Had the phone for almost three years!
I got the iPhone 12 Pro Max on iOS 15 and the battery life is on 82%!!
My iPhone 12 Pro Max is only 8 months old. So for those that are saying “It’s normal” get your head out of your asś! This isn’t normal. iOS 15 is a battery killer.

avatar
Feb. 18, 2022, 12:05 a.m.

You will need to replace the battery once it drops below 80%. Chemical elements in the battery do degrade over time. All I can say is that you shouldn’t get it overheated and always charge once it drops below 50 percents. But it can only slow the degradation. As I’ve stated earlier, you will need to replace it in a couple of years or so. My previous iPhone stayed 100 percent for most of the year, then it quickly deteriorated to 93. Still it was good as new, no worries there. I would just scrub that functionality and give a warning once it’s time to replace the bat.

Thanks for the tip

avatar

I have the iPhone 12 Pro Max mine is 87 after 9 months

same happening with me

After 1-2 weeks 1% keep dropping

mines at 88% and I’ve had the 12 pro max since the first day it was released.

I have 83% and my Iphone 12 is 14 Months old, no problem for me

avatar
Feb. 18, 2022, 12:05 a.m.

Just don’t drain the battery less than 60%.
Once it comes down to 60 % recharge it to 90 or even 100 % depending on how your usage estimate is

avatar
Feb. 18, 2022, 12:05 a.m.

Battery health decreased down to 99% . You find that a problem??

should be a problem. The iPhone is still brand new.

you’d be surprised. 99% after 3 months is just fine…

exactly man my 12 is at 99% after 4 no worries

avatar
Feb. 18, 2022, 12:05 a.m.

It’s not a “problem”. It’s what happens with batteries. I’ve had my 12 Pro for 7 months and it’s at 93%. Very normal.

avatar
Feb. 18, 2022, 12:05 a.m.

My iphone XR battery Health 98 % in 11 month.
2 % decreased in 11 month

avatar
Feb. 18, 2022, 12:05 a.m.

Every battery is different and within tolerances … everyone uses their phone different… you’ve lost 1% in 2 months … it’s fine and completely normal it just means you’ve been using your phone which you paid a lot of money for 🤷🏻‍♂️

avatar
Feb. 18, 2022, 12:05 a.m.

I noticed that upgrading to new IOS updates was decreasing my iPhone maximum battery capacity. I stopped upgrading and my percentage is still at 93% since 6 months.

yes my iphone 12 is still on iOS 6 now. i stopped updating the firmware so the battery health will never drop.

avatar
Feb. 18, 2022, 12:05 a.m.

That’s totally fine. Don’t worry about the battery health.

avatar
Feb. 18, 2022, 12:05 a.m.

That's pretty normal. My 11 Pro got to 98% on the second month and stayed there for almost a year after that.
Each and every battery is unique. Manufacturers usually give the capacity with a tolerance (±3%, for example). This just means that yours was from the below average group.

avatar
Feb. 18, 2022, 12:05 a.m.

I remember my 12 pro max got 99% battery health after 5 months but this 13 pro max I have observed that the battery keeps draining even though it is in standby mode.

avatar
Feb. 18, 2022, 12:05 a.m.

Mine is on 82 and it’s an iPhone 12 Pro Max and not even a year old. I’m trading this phone in for the S21 Ultra 5G.

leaving apple ?

yes. I’ve been with them for over ten years. I never once had a battery issue like this on any of my old devices. I don’t trust Apple anymore. I’m leaving.

avatar
Feb. 18, 2022, 12:05 a.m.

Battery percent drop is upto charge cycle apple logarithm have designed on that pattern for example it have drop count equivalent to charge cycle

avatar
Feb. 18, 2022, 12:05 a.m.

So with iPhones (I don't have one but considering one) I keep reading that if the battery health drops below 80% then it's time to replace the battery?

Why can't the battery go down to let's say 40%?

40% will be like 7 years of use

avatar
Feb. 18, 2022, 12:05 a.m.

They shouldn’t start decreasing until at least 6 months later if you have your iPhone cool & don’t let it drop between 30% to 40% battery power and when its reach 30% battery power. Put the iPhone on charge turn off your iPhone while charging & leave it charging over night which reach 100% battery power, but don’t use the iPhone while it is charging because it’s can cause the battery to degrade if you not using while charging plug is in it’s not normally recommended until it’s fully charged at least 80% & not below 80% which can have effect to degrade faster if don’t disconnect it below 80%, but it’s will be 100% in the morning as it’s safer when fully charged overnight while you’ll in bed.

avatar
Feb. 18, 2022, 12:05 a.m.

Stop using fast charging, it hurt the battery.... a lot of heat will degrade your battery faster

thankyou for your suggestion

Apple Watch series 5 is the best

avatar
Feb. 18, 2022, 12:04 a.m.

No no no! Return it! The series 6 is coming out within 4 days and it’s going to be more affordable than ever. Take it back while you can.

true but it’s not Confirmed it’s being released it’s just known there will be an event. Don’t make accusations. And there’s usually 14 days to return

the series 6 is coming but the 3 is fine. I have that and the 5.

Still an AW3 affordable replacement will be released this month. Except the new AW6.

nahh I don’t wanna return it, I’ll wait a few months after the new watch comes out and if I like it I’ll just buy the new one too. I never wore watches before so I didn’t wanna spend like 400-500 on a series 4 or 5 and end up wearing it a day or two and then never use it again

avatar
Feb. 18, 2022, 12:04 a.m.

It’s the Series 3? You shouldn’t have because they are planning on discontinuing it very soon and I am not sure she will take many updates anymore... But congrats anyway 🤗

Series 5 is still to much money

Maybe but she would loose a bit when the 6 comes out

I might get one, I bought this one to see if I’d like the Apple Watch

It’s cool for me I got a decent job and a lot of extra cash, I went from my first 6s to a 6s plus then 7 plus before going to the 11. I had a crap year and finally got a good job so I’m having fun lol

I got the series 4 44mm in stainless steel for 425 from amazon in a flash deal ... absolutely love it but just wish the battery was a bit better with my work day and sleep tracking i only get a day out of it 🤷🏻‍♂️

I’ve been thinking about it but haven’t yet been able to convince myself to buy yet another gadget which will need to be replaced in 5yrs, I’ve already got enough of those: an iPhone, an iPad, a HomePod. I’m hoping my T470p will last 10 so that needs to be replaced in another 7yrs

I just switched to iPhone last year and have already bought like 4 different iPhones already, I started with the 6s then the 6s plus then moved to the 7 plus before I got the 11 last month so I’m used to upgrading lol
