A month ago I bought my first iPhone, after 7 years of Android devices. This is iPhone SE 2020, black, 64 GB. After a month of use, I am very satisfied with this device. Fast, compact, useful. You can feel the ease of the operating system and the power of iOS.
Perfomance
This SE has fabulous performance in every way. The speed with which they can access applications, or unlock the phone via Touch ID, is how Apple makes very good phones for users.
Design, Size & Screen
An iPhone 6s, 7 or 8 in a 2020 device. I don't mind its size at all. It is compact and easy to use with one hand. The screen size, the 4.7 inches is small for 2020, but not for me. The image quality on SE 2020 is decent, I have no problem with that.
Camera
My favorite part of the phone is the camera, which pleasantly surprised me. The pictures are wow. Clearly, the colors are exactly like in the real world, all thanks to the A13 Bionic chip, the chip on the iPhone 11 range. In the video, things look perfect. Stability, good clarity at 4K resolution, from this point of view, the camera is a big plus for the iPhone SE 2020.
Battery Life
The most criticized aspect of this phone is the battery life. The 1821 mAh capacity is very small for a smartphone in 2020, but it depends on the user how long the battery lasts. In my case, the battery lasts a day, a day and a half or even two days. I'm an average user, I don't stay on it non-stop. I use it for calls, social networking, pictures and videos, YouTube, Netflix and HBO Go.
For the battery to last me a long time, and for the health of the battery to be very good as much as possible, when I don't use it, I leave the brightness at a low level. I use the dark mode, and the low battery mode is turned on all the time when I don't charge it. The phone charges in a little over 2 hours from 0 to 100%, but if I discharge it at 25 or 30%, in an hour and a half it is at its maximum. On standby, it's spotless. Overnight, no more than one percent is lost from the battery before bed.
Apps and Storage
I chose the 64 GB model. For me it is more than enough. The applications I have are: Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, TikTok, Google, Chrome, Google Maps, Google Photo, GMail, Google Translate, HBO Go, Netflix, F1 TV or WWE, plus platforms for watching TV programs. I don't fill my memory with pictures. I make them and save them in Google Photo, where I have unlimited storage space and after deleting the photos.
Price
If in the USA, the starting price of iPhone SE 2020 is 399 $, in Romania, the starting price of SE was 2400 lei (495.84 € / 584.5 $). This month has its first discount since its launch, it was reduced by 100 lei (20.66 € / 24.35 $), it will probably have a more serious discount in November, when it will be Black Friday, it will probably arrive around 2000 lei (413.22 € / 487.21 $).
Switching from Android to iOS
I enter the Apple ecosystem after 2 tablets and 3 Android smartphones. My last Android device that I still have is the Samsung Galaxy J6 +. The phone is ok, but in video the image was not stable. The transition to iOS was not difficult at all. I'm switched to a very easy, stable and secure operating system. Apple is doing a good job of convincing people to buy their products.
I recommend it?
The answer is yes and no. Yes for those who want a compact and long-lasting phone, but also for medium use. No, for those who sit on it from early morning to late evening, for those who want to play their favorite games, like PUBG or Asphalt. Even if we find the chip on the iPhone 11/11 Pro / 11 Pro Max, and the performance of large caliber games is superior, I still do not recommend it for games. Battery life will suffer.
Who do I recommend it for?
Who has an iPhone 6s, 7, 7 Plus, 8, 8 Plus (for 7/7 Plus, if the phone is bought in the year of launch or a year or two after launch, and for 8/8 Plus if it was bought in launch or one year after launch), for those who have an iPhone SE (2016 model), or for Android users who want to switch to Apple, but can't afford a lot of money for the best iPhones, this iPhone SE 2020 is perfect for you. For those who have the iPhone X and 11 ranges, for those who got their iPhone 7/7 Plus and 8/8 Plus in 2019 or 2020 or are waiting for the official launch of the new iPhone 12, but also the vast majority of Android users, it is natural that they don't need this phone.
In conclusion, in the world of technology, it is the most controversial phone launched in 2020, but even so, iPhone SE 2020 will be successful and will reach the hands of many users, due to the fact that it is the cheapest starting price of an iPhone in the last 4 years, due to the fact that it is an "iPhone 11 in an iPhone 8 body" through the prism of the A13 Bionic chip, but also through the prism of the design that was very successful among Apple users, through Touch ID. Even though the iPhone X and 11 have facial recognition, in this period when the COVID-19 pandemic is everywhere, and in many countries the decision has been made to make the protective mask mandatory, this iPhone SE 2020 is perfect in terms of security. A small but powerful phone.

To me Android phone is still better than iPhone
on the flip side I switched from android for the first time since I owned the 4s and I won’t be going back in a hurry
iOS makes it feel like a fragmented mess with no clear direction or road map where as Apple has built a great eco system with top notch developer support and devices that jus work together and Apple silicone is just going to take it to the next level 🤷🏻♂️
To me, a Windows 10 tablet (Surface Pro 7) is still better than iPad.
But iPhone is better than android phones.
Respect for writing this long review 😂
On the back it kinda looks like my iPhone 7
slightly different location of Apple logo
For 35 days now continuing I have the Product Red and enjoying much!

It will basically take 2 hours and 30 minutes or more to charge
I see a lot of questions coming by about the battery ca ...
I see a lot of questions coming by about the battery capacity. On the iphone it is just a gimmick. If you really want to know your battery's state of health you've got to calculate yourself. I have an old samsung galaxy note 9 with a 4000mah battery. I placed it on the charger at 12% and charged it to 100% with a USB tester in between. This device shows exactly how many mah / watthours is going through. Ive got only 2266mah in my 4000mah battery over 88%. That is a battery capacity of 68%. After 2 years of use. I cant get trough a day anymore on 1 single charge, so it is time to either replace the battery or get a new phone. If i would replace the battery i also have to replace the screen because it has a crack in there 🤣

Running your battery down to 12% is not helping the matter either. Charging from that low of a state will cause the battery to get too warm. You should have started recharging it before it dropped below 20%.
samsung only gives a low battery warning from 15%. I can't change that either.
Guys, should I get my iPhone's battery replaced? I have ...
Guys, should I get my iPhone's battery replaced? I have to charge the phone like 3-4 times a day for 2-3 hours each (and it dies in 1.5 hours of usage of just social media apps).
my iPhone model is 6S Plus, will getting the battery changed, have any effect on the phone? any precautions?

Does eSIM use more battery than standard SIM cards?
Yes change the battery.
bro do you have any guess what would be the price?
your country please?
bro city btao
Yes get it changed, it won’t have any other affects of your phone
I hear from people that the value of the phone goes down if we get it opened for battery replacement, is it true?
Not necessarily. A certified Apple repairperson always cleans up the insides and reapplies the water resistance seal after opening an iPhone. Also, more battery health means its resale value is increased.
I would get a whole new phone because then you won’t have that problem and it will cost you more to get a new battery than it will for you to get a new phone
What kind of iPhone??
I changed it two times for my iPhone 6s. It works perfectly.
Get it changed. Yes the value will decrease if it is opened, but it would still sell for more with a new battery. Just make sure to have it replaced at a place that has a good reputation, or use an apple service provider
A minha bateria tinha 79% tenho um iPhone 8...tinha de o carregar 2x ao dia.
Eu mudei de bateria por 25€ á 2semanas...agor
O teu apesar das atualizações ainda vale gastar o valor.
Any iPhone Battery which goes below 80% will show Service Symbol. Can replace the battery ..for more details Contact 9043555516.
Don't change the battery it will have no better effect
How many years did u use ur iPhone please reply
Since 2016 bro
it’s time to change. as usual under 85% performances drop
Under 80%
ok, i replaced the battery with an aftermarket type 25€ here in Italy on Amazon but it’s not the same, after a year it’s already warn out. Gone in a apple store and the genuine one 55€ works as well as the first time. Have a nice day. Greetings from Milan.
(old iphone 7 plus 128)
My friend the Best 3rd party batteries is not from Amazon it’s actually from AliExpress under name “ Nohon “ or “ Baseus “ I prefer nohon and nohon also has bigger capacity! And it’s the closer to the original in terms of heat n stuff .. i do respect your decision but i think apple overpriced battery replacement specially with older iPhones
i agree, genuine spare parts are exepensive
i will check the brands on aliexpress, i usually by in that platform. thanks
You’re welcome my friend.
Change battery at Apple.
There is some real justification for using Apple’s batt ...
There is some real justification for using Apple’s battery pack.
1. Portable battery to supplement the iPhones battery with no cables needed. I like that.
2. It’s MagSafe! It sticks right on the back and it actually hangs on very well.
3. The Apple battery uses Apples smart tech to properly charge the iPhone. It won’t charge to the point where heat will start to hurt the iPhones battery or the Apple battery pack. Others cannot do that.
4. With Apples battery pack it will work with Apples baked in widgets. I like that.
5. And, a person gets the cool MagSafe animation when attached to the iPhone. I like that.
6. The Apple battery pack is much more efficient at supplying power to the iPhone over any 3rd party battery on the market. That’s because Apples software is baked into the battery pack.

I got mine last week and love it
The Apple one barley charged more than half the iPhones battery

use shitty chinese battery that always shows 100% or use programmer that will set battery to always show 100%
Yes that happened to me on my 6s plus back in 2018

What was the price brother?
huh?

I have it from the iPhone 6. It’s a great iPhone. I will not be upgrading.
I just got iPhone 7 Plus London used ...
I just got iPhone 7 Plus London used
Observation:
1: 7 plus changes slower than 6s plus and the Battry drains also drains faster
2: My battery Heath is 100% but can’t go for more than 4hrs on internet usage
The new 7plus hots sometimes
I’m actually missing my 6s plus
What is your suggestion
Do you think the 7 plus have issues or is normal experience on 7plus
Please advise me

I think this iPhone refurbished
is not refurbished... but is a replacement iPhone
I want an iPhone too plz hlp me guyz
go with SE OR IPHONE 11 pro.
Sounds like you have a faulty iPhone
iPhone 7 plus have a good battery life
looked how many hrs for heavy user
Inasmuch as it might be a refurbished version, battery draining is peculiar to iOS 14. It’s a bug that is yet to rid off which I believe would normalise the battery usage.
is not refurbished
Maybe it has some issue because even though they slowly becoming obsolete i had a 6splus a few months ago and even at 80 percent battery health it hold longer charge and my usage was very heavy
which kind of issue do you think... should I return the phone?
Im not sure but return it and try an upgrade or a different one
I wanna ask you ...I have the same phone ... But it heats up in the back exactly in the back of sim slot
Same here bro
do you also experience slow charging???
yep
so I think this problem in all phones
how long do ur battery last after full charge when using internet?
I guess soooo
It should have better battery life than 6s. 👀
I had 7 plus before my 11 and I must say it had a nice battery life.
iPhone 7 + was probably the worst iPhone that I have had. Battery life, call quality and a couple other minor issues. But I know other people that say they have loved the 7+. Basically what you are describing though seems more like a refurbished phone though. (Good Luck & Godspeed)

Refurbished iphone aren't a guarantee for very good lifespan,,so my advise get a replacement of another apple device

iPhone 7, the best smartphone I have ever owned. Still alive till now; well preserved. How bout yours, what’s the best iPhone/smartphone you have ever owned?
all photos are shot entirely on iPhone Xs raw format using Lightroom.

My favorite iPhones so far have been the iPhone 5 in black. iPhone. 8 plus, 11 pro max, and 13 pro max.
iPhone 7 still rocks 2022 but only battery not that good the rest perfectly fine.
yes though I’m hoping for 13
I loved my iPhone 5
Totally agree, I have still have my iPhone 7 from back in 2018 and honestly still use it more than my 12 pro
iPhone 7 and iPhone 6 , both they’re the best phones I have. 🥰
7 here, no issues, acquired new from the provider at a great price and purchase mode two years ago. Mind you we use other devices for the task they were meant to be used, i.el camera, tablet, desktop, TV......
same, although it’s 5 years old
I had the iPhone 7 in red up until a week ago and i have upgraded to iPhone 13 in blue and I love them both
Hey you’re in the AYAOTD group 😆👍🏼
yes lol I’m one of the admins in there
didn’t know you’re on here too…cool
wow nice 👍
I loved my iPhone 4, first one I got and still have it now. It’s got old games on that were not compatible after ios10 so kept it just for the games. I loved it, had a Samsung galaxy s2 before that so screen was slightly smaller but was so much better, would never go back to android.
I agree my iPhone 7 Plus was the best! We moved to lake and carrier had no service here so I had to switch carriers and got new phones. My 7 I had for years and was in perfect condition so I sold for good price, but I loved it!
Wish Apple could have increased the display size of iPhone 7 because the back of the phone is beautiful
My first was the iPhone 5, bought it at the airport just before I went to Vietnam. Took beautiful pics there.
My iPhone 7 it lasted me many years until the battery died.
I have the iPhone 7 Plus works great
Amazing quality photos
Best phone i have also used the iphone 7
The cameras are even better then the 10 am using
The 4S was my entry into the Apple Ecosystem and a great phone.
Every iPhone is unique , but for me it’s iPhone 4 (it was revolutionary for that time )
Ya it's great until the day Apple doesn't support it anymore and your apps stop working
For Mini FormFactor i will definitely like Iphone 8 or se 2020 for glass body and handyness ! I got 12 pro max btw
Iphone 7+ my first phone.
Perfectly working.
Which iOS version is it in?
Its running on the latest iOS ver 15.2
wow!!! That’s what’s amazing about Apple!! Am enjoying every moment with the iPhone!! 🥳🥳
I have 7 plus I love it
I didn't see a huge difference between the 7 and 8 plus
i hav an iPhone 8 Gold
Iphone 8plus my favourite ever
iPhone 4s was my fave
5S my son is still using it to this day!
iPhone 4 for me
My first iphone ever
iPhone X
Still using mine with no sim for Facebook Twitter Pokémon go etc
I’ve been using my iPhone SE (2020) and one thing I mus ...
I’ve been using my iPhone SE (2020) and one thing I must say is that for the few hours I have had it:
1. The Apple A13 makes this phone perform better than the iPhone 11/Pro/ProMax due to smaller display and not needing to push as much pixels like the other phones
2. The Apple A13 is absolutely making a difference on battery life. From the iPhone 7 (brand new) to the iPhone SE (2020), due to the A13 Bionic chip being more power efficient, the battery life is far superior. Plenty of people forget this fact, and it’s irritating! Battery life HAS improved.
3. Camera is FANTASTIC! I absolutely love the addition of portrait mode on a smaller phone.
Hope this helps if you want to get this phone!
... also, this phone feels lighter???!
Chipset seems to be underclocked
not at all!
geekbench score sugest it is
100% false. Don’t believe everything. Both have exact same thing. My iPhone 11 says Apple A13 Bionic 2.66 GHz. And see this video, it says exactly same
chck Antutu score
I think that may be that Geek bench hasn’t yet been optimised for it. My iPhone SE 2020 came out with a similar score to my 11 Pro Max. But each attempt resulted in different figures for each.
they did it to the iphone 7 32gb model so wudnt be the 1st time for apple to do such a thing
you said processor being underclocked...
watch the benchmark part
Antutu is the worst app btw. try buying geekbench
thats it
So what is the usual screen on time you get on your SE?
haven’t had it long enough yet but I’ll be extensively testing this
should i sell my 2 year old x and get se? Your suggestion?
I think it may feel like a slight downgrade? The SE is a fab phone but I also have the 11 Pro Max and I don’t think I could use this as my main phone. Like I said it fantastic but when you’re used to the X design it’s hard. But entirely up to you, if you’re not bothered about full body display, OLED or Face ID, then go for it. The SE will be faster and you won’t be losing too many features to be honest.
let us know in this group.
the SE and 11 Pro Max are like miles apart m8, you shouldn’t even be comparing them.
you should rather get a XS or XR if you are moving from X. Unless you like 16:9 ratio display and touchID, get SE
I’m not comparing them, I’m pointing out that I have both and struggled going from Full body to Touch ID and small display. The 11 Pro Max is a similar design to the X, I should know I upgrade every year. I’m just giving my opinion from someone with an iPhone similar to the X and the 2020 SE
thanks man
No worries. 👍🏼
yo buddy do you mind to share how the battery has been since it’s a long time now
Can i see your photo comparison between SE and iPhone 7?
I’ve already reset my iPhone 7 so unfortunately can’t send that
If the iPhone 7 performs 5 to 6 hours straight so this iPhone SE I guess has 6 to 7 more hours?
When mine arrived yesterday I charged to 100% then ran a Geekbench battery test and it went from 100-0% in 3hr 44mins BUT I woke up at 8am and used the SE from 100% to now 15:08 using social media and messaging and it’s on 75% so it’s really quite good. Only a little lower than my iPhone 11 Pro Max.
Wow nice to know that.
no worries, I’ll post the scores as I’ve just noticed it’s slightly above the iPhone 8. Real life usage though is definitely pulling good battery life.
yes I’ve seen very similar performance. At times I get better battery life than my iPhone 11 Pro Max
Have you tried fast charge?
I have it’s the same as my 11 Pro Max 50+ in 30 minutes, very good for a quick topup before heading out.
You are praising A13 lol. I’m having same Xs max and 11 pro myself. But you are too much praising it
You’ll be similar to me, going from Xs Max to 11 Pro Max you don’t notice much difference but if you haven’t upgrades since iPhone 8 and below it’ll be mind blowingly fast. Especially older iPhones that may be finally starting to slow down.
yup you are true. This might be the case with him.
The battery life on the new iPhone SE....can you please provide some more details? Can it sustain 12-15 hours away from the charger with medium usage(calls, whatsapp, email) with FULL brightness?? I have the original first gen SE and I will be replacing it as soon as this covid-19 crisis is behind us.
definitely not at 100% brightness. I’ve got 75% from 8am this morning (to now 15:08) and that at varying brightness levels. You could get maybe half a day at full brightness. Auto brightness could get you through the day. It’s the same with my 11 Pro Max, 100% brightness will get me most the day but not all.
The problem with me is that I work in construction site, so that’s why I said 100% full brightness. As long as the iPhone is inside my pocket it’s fine. But sometimes my client calls me to go on rounds to check progress of the construction work so at that time both me and the iPhone are exposed to bright sunlight. And I’m on my feet for 16 hours a day. I could maybe top up the battery for 30 mins while having my lunch, but that’s about it. My first gen SE is absolutely miserable with regards to battery life. I have to keep carrying around a power bank with me to keep it alive.
If you can charge it for 30 mins it supports fast charge so you could get 50% in 30 mins but you’ll need to buy a different charging brick as the one that comes with it is a 5W.
Knowing your routine, it could get you through the day with a quick charge. You could even buy an iPhone 8 battery case as it’s the same design.
Does using fast charger accelerate the battery’s ageing?? I always keep my battery between 40%-80% though. My first gen SE is at 100% health since September last year(this is the second battery).
I’m not 100% but I’d say no, as Apple wouldn’t implement it knowing they’d get a lot of backlash for not telling people about the damage it could do. I fast charge my products inc iPhone 11 Pro Max with a 87W Max Charger haha and my iPhone has 99% capacity in the battery settings and I’ve had it since launch day.
if the battery life matters to you, grab yourself one of those old iPhone 7 smart battery cases! That’ll surely get you insane amounts of battery life
like someone cares lol
