Why iPhone 13 Pro battery is draining sooo fast

iPhone 13 pro max 256 gb. In 2 hours I’ve gone from 86% to 59%. I put it on low power mode when it hit 75%. Any idea why my battery is draining sooo fast?? I have no open apps and the only thing I’m doing on the phone is using the Bible app.

Are you currently on transferring data/apps from previous iPhone? If yes it might be a reason. Until it’s done transferring, it’s should be fine.

Or

Did your cellular connectivity stable at your place? If your place don’t have 5G coverage, you may turn off the 5G connectivity to ensure your phone not keeping on searching for 5G connection. I realised iPhone start to consume a lot of battery use when it’s struggling to find network connectivity.

Last but not least, you may check any apps running in background. You can turn off the apps that you seldom use.

It’s a general issue I think in iPhone 13 pro max
Am facing same issue
Also my friends

it is not… I am not facing any such issue.

Ill swap you my 8 then you have no problem πŸ˜‚

agreed

I also have no problems, where as my 12 Pro Max use to drain the battery to 13% by the end of the day, my 13 Pro Max is over 50% at the end of the day.

Check the location settings, I had the “always” setting activated on WhatsApp and it drained the battery really fast

Turned it off and problem solved.

Do you have the latest iOS downloaded? And are all of your apps up to date?

I believe so but I’ll double check all of that.

You need to check you don’t have stuff running in the background

How exactly is this an issue though. Stop overthinking it and simply use your phone. People psych themselves out with that number and in day to day usage you would never notice it

Oh and batteries wear out with use and every person uses their iPhone differently no matter what. Charging and usage patterns are different no matter what so it’s hard say.

It having gone down 1% in two months is not a problem.

Yup! iOS 15 has been hurting the battery on so many iPhones out there. This is not normal. I have an iPhone XR on iOS 12.4 and the battery life is on 100%!! Had the phone for almost three years!
I got the iPhone 12 Pro Max on iOS 15 and the battery life is on 82%!!
My iPhone 12 Pro Max is only 8 months old. So for those that are saying “It’s normal” get your head out of your asΕ›! This isn’t normal. iOS 15 is a battery killer.

avatar

You will need to replace the battery once it drops below 80%. Chemical elements in the battery do degrade over time. All I can say is that you shouldn’t get it overheated and always charge once it drops below 50 percents. But it can only slow the degradation. As I’ve stated earlier, you will need to replace it in a couple of years or so. My previous iPhone stayed 100 percent for most of the year, then it quickly deteriorated to 93. Still it was good as new, no worries there. I would just scrub that functionality and give a warning once it’s time to replace the bat.

Thanks for the tip

Just don’t drain the battery less than 60%.
Once it comes down to 60 % recharge it to 90 or even 100 % depending on how your usage estimate is

avatar

That's a lot, my iPhone 12 is a year old and still 100% using the Apple 20w charger. The key is not to charge above 80% and not let it go below 30 or 40%, charging too high or letting it go too low puts a lot of strain on lithium batteries. A number of short charges throughout the day is better than one long charge

avatar
Dec. 31, 2021, 11:13 a.m.

That's pretty normal. My 11 Pro got to 98% on the second month and stayed there for almost a year after that.
Each and every battery is unique. Manufacturers usually give the capacity with a tolerance (±3%, for example). This just means that yours was from the below average group.

Supposed to play games to protect battery health

avatar
Dec. 31, 2021, 7:40 p.m.

This percentage is an estimate that Apple makes. A possible prediction. That, of course, means nothing at all. Just keep in mind that you have to replace a battery once every 2 to 3 years. New batteries are not that expensive. Luckely, you can easily replace the battery of your iPhone yourself.......

iPhone 13 Pro battery is draining when playing game

My friend got a 13 pro and he notices that while playing pokemon go, the battery drains faster than his iPhone XS. Is there a known issue that 120hz is formes while gaming? Because I’m guessing the reason battery drains that much is because of 120hz

No 3rd party apps can use 120 hertz till apple updates it

avatar
Dec. 31, 2021, 3:43 p.m.

i’m guessing, as it’s a newly released device. Pokémon go is just not optimised for it yet.

Pokemon is just the game he playes the most, But all games drain battery much faster on the 13 pro than XS

yeah that’s because the Xs has been released for years and has been optimised by pokémon. In this case the only way to solve is to wait for pokémon to optimise and update the game for the iphone 13

But have you noticed any huge batterydrain issues yourself due to the 120hz screen? Like videos etc?

what apple has is dynamic refresh rate, which means it only
uses 120hz when scrolling fast or on games that support it. But as of now I don’t think normal daily browsing should affect
battery life.

videos don't use 120Hz, as that wouldn't make much sense. They should play at whatever the frame rate is. 24 FPS should play at 24Hz.

its called adaptive refresh rate but yeah thats the idea, will adapt depending on the app thats being run

avatar
Dec. 31, 2021, 4:02 p.m.

Not all games support 120hz. Can delete redownload the game and see if that helps.

avatar
Dec. 31, 2021, 7:38 p.m.

So all in all 120hz on iPhone is much better managed than samsungs, Xiaomi etc etc 120hz screens

Do a forced reboot. It should fix that issue.

You need to press the volume up and volume down buttons very quickly, but not at the same time. The side button is what Apple calls the power button on newer devices. After a few seconds of holding down the side button, your iPhone 13, iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13 Pro, or iPhone 13 Pro Max should restart itself.

I wanna try thanks for let me know❀️ Appreciated

Well, you said you were using it for 20 hours. you didn’t, you used it for around 3.
You ended charging at around 7-8 and the SS is from 23 o’clock so it was left without charging for around 15 hours.

To compare, i have around twice your screen time on a one-year-old 12 pro max, and i usually end the day with 50-25%.
Thanks for posting, can’t wait till i upgrade my ownπŸ™

It’s possible to get insane battery life on the 13 pro max.

15 hours screen on time and only 75% battery used. That was on Saturday.

That means 100% of the battery would give approx 20 hours of screen on time.

avatar
Dec. 31, 2021, 2 a.m.

The battery life on 13 pro max seems to be ridiculously good.

This was yesterday, when it was used for over 10 hours (9 hr 26 min screen on and 49 minutes off) and used only a tiny bit over 25% battery. Definitely less than 30%.

That means 100% could potentially get you over 30 hours.

F

battery life

Of course it huge depends on what apps you use and if using mobile data or just WiFi, but it’s definitely possible to get pretty insane battery life on it.

The improved battery life alone was worth upgrading from the 12 pro max.
