Lenovo T420 laptop is charging but still in 0%
How I can fix if my Lenovo t420 laptop is charging but still in 0% all over time?
1st option would be calibrate the battery via Lenovo Vantage
If still same problem then you need to get new battery
I didn't know about Lenovo Vantage, I still have an old ThinkPad... but I think the battery is shot for sure, since it won't even stay on when unplugged from the AC
oh, I have an old ThinkPad, it's like a tank, p3-500 256mb of ram :O I've modified it a bit to run Linux nicely though.
If you could get to run windows on it, older versions of Lenovo battery management software might run 🙂
Tthinkpad T420: "the battery installed is not supported by the system and will not charge"
ThinkPad t420. “Genuine” Lenovo T420 battery - even came in a box and all seemed genuine. Seems legit, but the laptop really isn’t happy. One moment it says it isn’t supported, the next it just says it has degraded and needs replacing. Could years on a shelf have knackered it? Any ideas?
Definitely one to go back to the seller, that one. Could well have been sitting for a very long time somewhere. The think vantage will show you it’s current available capacity and design capacity if it can read it ok
I’m trying to turn off now. Thinkvantage was saying very discharged, replace and then the next minute that it wasn’t supported - which is rubbish - 55++ is correct
No, still hasn’t arrived to the new owner, sadly 😞. Also, you can get your money back so easily one eBay
Used a 27+ Slice Battery but 0% charging
Hey guys, has anyone used a 27+ Slice Battery?
I have connected it to my T420, it registers it as being connected but says 0% charging, but never actually increases the charge. Is my battery a dud?
This is due to coreboot. There was no problem with T430 and W530 of factory BIOS. T520 coreboot has the same phenomenon as you.
Lenovo T420 Battery Charge Threshold is still not fully active
Note : Battery Charge Threshold is still not fully active. Please unplug your machine and allow your battery to drain to or below the stop-charging threshold.
What should I do?
Lenovo T420s Ultrabay battery does not charge
Hello Guys, so I got a T420s and installed an third party Ultrabay battery, but it does not charge. The main battery is still charging. Does the Ultrabay battery only charge when the main battery is 100%?
And what is the best practice to start a script when the ThinkPad gets into the docking station? I am using a dual boot system with W10 & Ubuntu 18.04
Lenovo T420 charges until 100% but on/off intermittent
Hi guys… Hope you all can help me out on my problem…recently my t420 which run on window 10 having charging issue/intermittent. It can charge until 100%, but on/off intermittent. Bought new battery but it doesn't help. Took out battery and direct plug in ac, I am able to use it without any issue. Someone asks me to reseat my ram and another fellow suggesting my charger faulty... What really happen to my machine and any idea to solve it...help me out brother man...
Does it go on /off only when the battery is in, ie does the whole thing shut down?
If it runs off the mains then the charging pin is fine, but if it's just going on and off bc the battery is loose on the connecter pins then I'd check there first before going down the bios path
Tony my machine on and off when charging, and it did not shut down unless the % become too low. FYI I have changed a new battery as well and so far i am going to do the basic troubleshooting first ie: battery, charger, laptop charger pin...
🤔 hmm, almost sounds like a voltage problem but if the machine still runs with the battery in then if you run through all the hardware checks, flashing the bios might be an answer, but it does sound like the motherboard needs a clean up.
I have borrowed my friend's charger and problem solved, but I'm going to let it charge a few cycles, and we will see from there...hopefully this is the culprit😣
Heard about some having trouble with OEM parts due to whitelist in bios. Didn't think it affected this model, tho.
Don't think it is a physical mobo issue, since it runs fine on mains.
