Hey Everyone

I was planning to buy a workstation thinkpad for 3D programs, Photoshop and AutoCAD, etc

But I found out that workstation is very heavy in weight

And I'm thinking of picking a light laptop with integrated graphic cards and that can work properly with these softwares

What are ur recommendations?

If someone has a thinkpad laptop and uses some of these software properly, put ur comment

Thanks in advance

For your requirements...integrated graphics are gonna to make u less productive because the "min" requirements to work with those software are with at least 2GB GPU, like the MX series nVidia...

Workstation are heavy and no compromise of that but anywhere within 1.8kg-2.2kg is always consider light...

Which model that you set your eye on?

i7, 16 gigs of RAM at least for Autocad, 8 gigs is enough for photoshop ( I edit plenty of 24megapixel raws from my DSLR comfy ) but do pay attention at the screen, if you can go with a WUXGA or 1080p that will do. The nVidia QuadroFX GPU is a must for that.

X1 Extreme or P1. Mobile workstations, at Lenovo are tuned for performance- they can sustain high level of performance for long time. That might not be the case for "standard" ThinkPad.
