I've got a ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 10 and getting an error with the camera - 0xa00f4244 NoCameraAttached.

It's running Windows 11; all OS and firmware patches up to date. The camera isn't listed in Device Manager.

I've tried a diagnostic scan, no issues.

I've manually downloaded the drivers from the Lenovo website, and installed them. Still nothing.

I've tried the regedit hack that comes up with I search Google. Hasn't worked.

Any suggestions?

Had to change the whole screen with camera fixture on my X1 Nano. Camera was DOA.

Starting to think it might be DOA.

Was the camera working before Win 11???

It came brand new out the box today with Win11 installed. 👍

If it is new it is under warranty from Lenovo give them a call

Have done, was just asking incase it was a known issue that I could fix. 🙂

I'm betting the camera is unplugged or defective.

Is the privacy shutter on?

Nope. Looks more hardware related tbh.

What does Lenovo Vantage show in thecamera settings?

Doesn't list a camera.

Gosh darn it. This would really irk me. You should get a new unit.

Yeah super annoying, got a support case open so will see what they say/do. 👍

Just for good measure, can you check these settings in BIOS?

It is enabled, but nothing in the OS. 😕

Parts have apparently been organised and a support technician will be coming out at some point. So maybe it's a known issue given their quick response.

Boo! New unit is in order. I had a similar, very, very irking issue with my P51, but the keyboard backlight didn't work, so I swapped the keyboard over from my P70, which I knew was working properly, but no dice. The planar connector was DOA. It really didn't affect the productivity of the machine, but I absolutely hated knowing that something wasn't working in my ThinkPad, so a year in, I decided to just swap the planar as I wanted a Xeon in it for good measure. So I got a Xeon planar and just swapped it out. I really didn't want to go through the bother of getting it exchanged through warranty as it was such a tiny issue, but man it irritated me.
