Hi all , hope someone can help a man in distress . I have a ThinkPad E14 Gen 2 , the socket on the device where the power cable plugs in is damaged . Where in the Western Cape can I have it repaired ?

Too late for you, but this is why I use magnetic plugs like this:

where can I find it?

does this affects the time of charging the computer?

This one doesn't seem to be in Amazon anymore but search eBay or amazon for "magnetic usb-c" for similar products.

not that I've noticed.

Thank you!

Magnetic ones are usually slow, because like old usbs they have 4 cables which is not enough for usb c.

Everyone is praising type c but it seems like it is not as solid as the regular usb. I feel like it is fragile when I use it as well

my experience has been the exact opposite. 🤷

Sorry to say, but I think it's likely to need a replacement motherboard, unless you can find somebody who is very good at soldering. Or maybe it's still under the 3-year warranty?
