Hello all

I’m going to buy my first lenovo laptop because I’m starting an IT education.

I was thinking of buying a Lenovo Thinkpad E15 G3 (20YG00B8MB) is it a good one/configuration? Or should I better be of with a Lenovo Thinkbook 15 G3 (21A400XGMB) this is the one school recommends.

There is one so dimm solded of 8gb will it work great with an extra 16gb or should I keep them equal?

Thanks in advance !

Try to buy T series instead of E or Thinkbook.

The T version is to expensive for me. So the thinkbook is way better then the E15?

I have no idea about Thinkpad E version and ThinkBook. Try to gg for more in4.

Yeah, I'd get more RAM if you can afford it. I don't buy anything less than 32GB... you burn through it quickly if you're doing a lot of VMs.

I’d rather have a used T-series than a new E-series or “ThinkBook” and you want 16 GB of RAM. 8 GB is adequate only for light use.

Since I learned about RAM’s dual channel capability, I always have 2 rows of RAM. (It speeds up).

And 8GB is a bit too small, my opinion.
You have a code editor, a few chrome tabs, may be a Word or Powerpoint slide, that could already filled the 8GB.

16GB is better.
