Does your laptop have SSD? I'm sure Windows haters above would persuade you install Linux, but for me I only suggest you put SSD. By looking at your laptop's terrible TN panel I'm 99% confident that your laptop even doesn't have SSD.

everyone should have an SSD if they can, but that has nothing to do with a stuck Windows update.

It has when HDD went bad. According to his previous post he is likely using T460.

it’s t470 i5 7th btw
And it’s has a 256g ssd disk

I’ll see thanks

Also for saving your eyes, consider to invest an IPS screen for your laptop.

This happens occasionally. I’ve had updates get “stuck” before but they always resolve themselves within a few days and just install overnight on their own. If this one doesn’t take care of itself there’s a few things you can do to help it along. This is one of the more complete articles I’ve seen. Once you’ve tried the usual stuff like rebooting and Safe Mode, you can stop/restart the update service and try a few other things. Worst case scenario you may need a system reset which will reinstall Windows but leave your personal data intact (but back it up anyway just in case!) You’ll have to reinstall your apps though. But there’s a bunch of troubleshooting things you can try before you get to that nuclear option. Good luck, let us know how it goes!
