Hi! I have this IBM R50e (type 1834) and it supports only 400 MHz FSB Dothan Celeron/Pentium M CPUs. I would like to upgrade but currently I only have Dothan with 533 Mhz FSB (). It has pretty much the same specs as the supported ones (socket, even the voltages) except for the Bus speed. I was wondering if it could damage the board or will just work on the lower, 400 MHz FSB frequency which would run the CPU at 1,4 GHz (instead of stock 1,86). Anyone tried any 533 FSB CPUs? Thanks!

oof
anyways yeah, I upgraded my R50e from a celeron to a P4, it works much better, I guess the timings are compatible.
it is now a R50.

I did upgraded my laptop (FSB 533 MHz) from Celeron to 800 MHz Core2Duo CPU.. and the clock speed were droped from 2,2 GHz to 1,486 GHz. But it still faster and cooler than stock 1,73 GHz Celeron. And the laptop runs better without any big problems.
