Thinkpad T470: È davvero finita la batteria o è qualche bug?Good morning, I have a t470
Good morning, I have a t470 and a problem with the battery 2, the removable one.
It tells me it can't be refilled because it has worn out with normal usage. I would like to remind you that I have used it very little in the last few years.
Is the battery really dead or is it some bug?
download Lenovo vantage ad check battery status. if the program shows the battery is bad, you'll need replace it
that could do it. If it was left off for 2 years with 100% charge or a very low charge like 25% or something. The best way to store a battery like that long term is keep it around 60-70% or so. That's why when you take most new laptops out of the box they usually have between 40-60% or so on the battery. It's never dead (unless somethings wrong and never at 90-100%. They store best with that moderate 60-70% charge and cool temps and dry conditions. >:)
based upon the error message, I would dispose of the battery properly and replace it with an OEM Lenovo part if possible or reputable OEM equivalent if it's not. Definitely don't just drop it in the garbage, it's toxic to the environment. Google "li-ion battery disposal" in your area. There should be a place to take it (or mail it) for proper disposal. 🙂
It happens. Batteries are consumables and they wear out. I had two die on my in one week, the primary battery in one of my T470s' and then in a X1 Carbon 6th.
