Hi everybody! Thanks for accepting me, I was thinking to buy one of these two refurbished notebooks,

- Notebook Lenovo ThinkPad X380 Yoga Core i5-8350U

-Notebook Lenovo ThinkPad T470s Slim Core i5-7300U

For me it's important that it is light and quite fast... I was opting for the second one but I fear for the only two Cores... What do you reccomend ?

thank you very much! ☺️

The X380 over the T470s ! It performs twice as well on average , according to cpu benchmarks

ok thank you! I would use it just for office stuff but I prefer something not too slow 😉

also I have a Thinkpad T460s which is similar to T470s. Both batteries died after just 1 year of use . And the speakers have already died twice and I have replaced them ! So yea I’d think the reliability of T470s is similar to T460s 😛

Which CPU benchmarks?

That's because the i5-7300u is a dual core 2/4 and the i5-8350u is a quad core 4/8 which doesn't really do anything for you in daily home/office use. The clock speed is significantly lower on the quad, as per usual, so the dual core is much more efficient in daily use.

I would go with 8th Gen or newer intel

thank you! I would use it just for Office actions but before I had an asus s410u quad core so I thought yoga version it is more similar...

I use T470s i7, 16gb ram, 1tb ssd since 2017.

Still using it almost daily for excel, emails, some youtube videos.
Moved my heavier workloads to a new machine (P14s gen 1).

Batteries already swollen twice, having third set on order. Other than that, I’d say it’s a solid and very reliable machine.

Lenovo should really have a free battery replacement policy - they seem to fail so often

I have only recently learn about max charge threshold setting on Vantage app.

I’ll try to set it to 80% on my next battery set.

If you don't use software that requires a very powerful CPU, the T470s will be great. I just bought one and it's very nice.

thank you! 😉 I like the T470s because is very slim...so is it enough performing for office operations?

Of course. Even 15-year CPUs can run Office, surf the web, and do common tasks satisfactorily, preferably with an SSD and at least 4 GB RAM.

If you want a 2 in 1, get the Yoga, if you just want a regular laptop, get the T470s. I have the 260 Yoga, the 370 Yoga and both T470s and T480s and the performance difference for daily use is neglible. It all depends on what you plan to use it for.

thank you! i would use it to surf the web, run Office, email etc ... before I had an asus s410ua quad core, so i thought the 470s was too slow but for what I have to do is not so, right?

...for the weight would you tell me which is the lightest and most practical to carry between yoga and t470s? Thank you very much!! >:)

Did u get the x380yoga? How is it? I am also deciding between the x380 yoga, x390 non yoga or the x1 yoga gen 3. Really couldn't decide. 😓

I'm still undecided too, unfortunately 😅 i am also considering thinkpad t480s ... albeit a bit more expensive...who decides first lets the other know !? 😉
