Hello. Anyone here using X1 Yoga?
I used to use 2gen, now rocking 3gen and both devices have a rather strange feeling when opening. I guess it's related to the keyboard hiding mechanism. I mean it's not like it's tearing apart, but opening my yoga doesn't feel as smooth as opening a 'normal' laptop. I wonder if it's normal or both of my devices are faulty.

The hinges on those are problematic, they get tight over time. Replacement hinges are under $30.00. They will get so tight they start pulling out the hinge screws and damaging the screen or the palm rest.
I have replaced dozens of them and it is not a big deal just keep up with the screws and where they go.

so far they work good, my only issue is that the moment when keyboard is hiding is denitely feelable

use a light lube on these spots on both hinges and work it slowly for a time or 2 and put it back together.
The cam and the spring-loaded plunger is what makes the keyboard park.
Make sure you wipe off any access lube

I just picked up the Gen 7, I try really hard to complain and critique but must say, I'm absolutely silent. I couldn't ask for more.
