has anyone swapped the ips panel from an x230t into a regular x230? I have watched the video that Sebastian Leis put up, and its really helpful but I was wondering if anyone else has done this as well.

My x230t died so I ordered a cheap x230 as a replacement. My daughter uses this computer for watching shows and doing homeschool so it doesn't NEED the ips screen but god help me if the 1366x768 panel doesn't look god awful in the TN format.

It is as easy as unsticking the screen from the digitizer and swapping them over. The mounta are identical between those screens as far as I remember.

You might need to swap the side brackets from the old screen aswell

I managed to take off the panel from the x230t today. I’m waiting to receive the x230 in the next day or two and then I will swap it. Was easier than I though.

can the screen be clean like other panels after it's been separated from the digitizer?

yeah. I cleaned mine and it’s fine. It’s exactly like if you bought a regular ips screen.

oh nice! Good to know.

yeah man. The only hard part is the removal process from the tablet. Just have to be slow and meticulous

i tried removing the digitizer on a phone screen and ended up shattering the screen panel 😄

I have swapped X230t outdoor display in X230 it was bright 400 nit and it had glossy gorilla glass. Verry nice to look at

I regret selling it, but at least now I have 2560x1600px 16:10 panel and i7-3615qe (photo is still x230 with outdoor display)

awesome man, x230 with i7 3615qe is a beast in compact design
