What is the best Thinkpad for linux
hey all, i want to buy a thinkpad but im stuck between x220, x230, x240, x250, x260 and x270:)
what i want is long battery hours, ips screen, good trackpoint, traditional keyboard ( im open for modding), upgradeabilty and a solid build.
i will be using linux.
any suggestions please?
Solid build, possibility of 7row keyboard, sum modding x230. better battery life and portability x270.
traditional keyboard & solid build, X230 for sure.
you can buy 9 cell genuine battery if you want long battery life ( 7-9Hours in a single charge for average usage )
Depends on your location and if it's an i5 or i7
i5 around $ 125.00 for a nice clean one
i7 prices I have seen going up the last months especially for the mint condition ones
Mostly around $ 200.00 and up
where do you check/find the sales? on ebay?
i live in japan by the way but i dont want a japanese keyboard so i want to buy it from abroad.
Probably x240/x250 as anything newer costs a loooot more and they will lose the value quickly not only because ThinkPads lose 80% value after few years but also because newest Intel generation and even better newest amd ThinkPads completely destroy any older generations so you are better off getting x250 for now and upgrading to AMD after a while
