Hi ThinkPad fellows. I need your expert opinions about powerbanks and Thinkpad.
Would it be safe to use this adaptor to charge x250 and E540?
Ideally I would only use the original charger of course but we are having power outages too often and I need a solution for that.
(I have a 30000 mAh powerbank).
Thanks in advance for all the answers.

You need a power bank with a 20v PD output, I have a high quality xaomi one and it has 20v PD but it can only output 45w, you will probably have issues trying to charge a ThinkPad with that, though the x240 might be fine.

I have converted my x201s to use an internal USB PD adapter and it works well with my apple 87w charger

But it is not problem input voltages are very important.

so you mean the powerbank itself?

As long as your powerbank is PD compatible with 20V you’re fine. I have a lenovo powerbank for 65w output and i ise it in my x390 and t14

If there's a powerbank that has an output of 65w, then yes. A 45w, if there's any, might be a problem. I'm using the similar type c stup with my t440p connected to a 100w Aukey pd (not powerbank but saves a lot of space

Any tips on a car charger option, or adapter, for a 12v car charger for a 230watt P72 power supply?

What I ended up doing is running some 2 gauge wire from my battery positive hookup to the cabin of my SUV and used a 500 watt inverter off of the wire. I also have some other electrical things in my vehicle for ham radio, so I just ran one line for all of it. I ground out to the frame for ground.

The issue with cigarette lighter inverters is that the wires in the car are not large enough for the load the 230w charger will draw.

Average 12v outlet is rated for about 120w.

My Sprinter van has 20amp cig lighters.. so ~240w.

I have a 90w PWR+ from my old Lenovo Z710 I might try to see if it can actually power my lower end P600 P72.... just hooked up my killawatt and ran some stress tests and it maxes out at 106watts and regular movie watching is around 30watts.

Won't work a powerbank is not gonna output enough voltage lol. Get a 20v powerbank and battery cells on aliexpress

okay that is my question lol. Even with a 20V powerbank I'd still need the cable in the picture and the question is:
Is this cable okay to use or not with the correct powerbank.
Thanks

19/20v powerbanks usually have a universal barrel plugs so it's completely different.
Either way it will not break anything even if you use that USB c plug as worst case it will just be too low voltage. I think they are supposed to be used with modern notebook chargers.

Something like this (this one is 12v but yeah... There are 19v too)

yeah mine is also 12v I need 20v version. Gotta buy a 20v bank. Thankx

You can get PD power banks that will do 20v. Mine has a 100w capacity.

I you are worried about the adapter, Lenovo sells it's own, I have one for my GaN Chargers

not the adapter; but battery health.

Yeah, as other sugested, your powerbank should have PD an a 20V output at least.
I use the Lenovo adapter and it shows as a normal 45w charger on mi X240 and L460
